We did it! Well, kind of. Both Caleb and I are done with our jobs here in Charlottesville—probably the biggest step to feeling that much closer to Cairo. I’ve been out of work for about a week now, and my time off has consisted of one thing: packing! I’m trying to get as much done as I can before Caleb and I jet off for the summer. First to Maine, then Indiana, then California. So it won’t be until mid-July that we’ll actually be back in Charlottesville for about two weeks to get all our packing done. And being that I am a HUGE procrastinator, I’m trying to be good and do as much as I can now.
It’s weird beginning to say goodbye to our friends here in Charlottesville. This place has become very much home to us over these past three years, so knowing that we’re saying goodbye, to probably not return, makes it that much harder. It will definitely be a very bittersweet transition for us.
As far as things in Cairo go, not a lot has changed. I’ve decided to wait until we get there to try and find a job, and we’ll find an apartment to live in once we get there as well. The school actually puts us up in a hotel for a few nights while we look for a place, which is nice! Overall, we are still confident that Cairo is the place we want to be, and are very much looking forward to living there (except for having to learn Arabic—which is HARD, people)! Thanks for continuing to pray for us and encouraging us as we go!
